Dating Game

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Yana Berlin Whether youre 15, 20, 30 or Fabulously40 plus, dating always seems like a task better left to someone else. And the older you get the harder it gets. After all, at 15 we are nave, at 20 we are gullible, at 30 we are determined to find Mr. Right, and by 40 we become the biggest skeptics. On the other hand, how are we supposed to find Mr. Right if we dont submit ourselves to the dating pool? Trying to find that one special man through friends and family almost never works, and blind dates get old and annoying very quickly. You know what Im talking about. Your well-intentioned friends set you up with that nice guy that they swear will fill your life with love and abundance. Then you find yourself sitting across the dinner table from some insufferably self-centered slob, frantically searching your mind for a plausible excuse you can utter so he will shut up and take you home. The only thing worse is having your mother (because she hears your biological clock ticking) arrange for you to meet a friends son. The description starts out, He is a very nice guy and he is tall and goes downhill from there. As the warning bells go off inside your head and the color drains from you face, you realize the time has come to take destiny into your own hands. So you take a deep breath, sit down at the keyboard, and type a URL that resembles something like www.findingmrrighttonight…com. You think of a user name and password, open your online dating account, and the adventure begins. On A Mission To your surprise and amazement, you awake next morning to find your email inbox overflowing with responses. Your heart sinks as you open the first email and look at the picture of a bold, very unattractive guy who is intrigued with your profile and wants to get to know you. Nevertheless, you note that you have at least 30 more emails to read and plunge ahead, certain that there must be at least one prince among all the frogs. As you open one email after another, you sift through attractive, successful, ugly, funny, boring males who have exposed themselves for your review. You feel somewhat empowered and confident that things are looking up. As you get to the last email, you realize there are several options you can consider replying to, and maybe one or two that actually look interesting. All of a sudden you find your whole life revolving around this exciting new game of online dating. The next thing you know, youre browsing your matches morning, noon and night, and are even skipping lunch to catch up on your latest online hopefuls. Your boss mentions several times that your work has slowed down. Your mother complains that you never call her. You ditch your friends for drinks during Happy hour day after day. You now have a mission, and no one will stop you! Mission Accomplished So, does online dating actually work? A Fabulously40 sister recently shared with me the following story: This sister hated the idea of dating online. But, when years passed and she didn’t meet anyone through family and friends, she eventually succumbed. After dating online for several months with mixed results (hopeful one day, disappointed the next), she received an email that said, I found your profile to be special and unique. Im recently widowed and fairly new to the dating game. I don’t feel comfortable posting my picture but would very much like to meet. She didnt agree to meet right away, partly out of caution and partly because he lived back east. Instead, she suggested they get to know each other through emails and see where their cyber relationship led. After a while, she began to feel that he was sincere and suggested they meet face-to-face. Delighted, he offered to fly to California to meet her. Three months to the date of his first email, our sister arrived at the restaurant for the appointed rendezvous. Wearing a red dress and red lipstick, she nervously followed the hostess to the table, where a man was already seated. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. As the hostess stepped aside, our sister found herself looking into the familiar eyes of a man she once knew. His face was older and more lined, and he seemed a bit shorter and huskier, but the eyes remained the same. Incredibly, here in front of her, with a huge smile on his face, sat the first boy she ever held hands with, the first boy she had ever kissed. They sat for 10 minutes without saying a word. He then reached into his pocket, pulled out a ring, got down on one knee, and proposed to her on the spot. They have been inseparable ever since. Obviously, most online dating ventures dont produce such fairytale endings. But you never know what can happen until you give it a try. So, if youre facing another weekend alone, get off that couch, go turn on your computer and give it a shot. Who knows who could be waiting for you behind that computer screen? Online Dating For Most Dummies- Men Only

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Teddy Shabba Let’s face it online dating for most dummies can be a real challenge. In this article, I am going to break down everything a man needs to do in order to be successful in online dating. 1. Find a Good Online Dating Site There are several good online dating sites that are out there, unfortunately for most dummies the number of bad dating sites are in the hundreds if not thousands by comparison. Your best bet is going to be to stick with the larger dating sites at first. 2. Your Profile No matter what, a woman is going to look at your profile to determine if she will even consider talking to you. A good username is the first step in the process and what you write as well as the pictures you put up are the most important parts of your profile. 3. Emails That You Send Her Honestly, this is where most dummies get it wrong as they either send out a generic hello or more often than not an email that says nothing more than I looked at your picture and really liked it. What you want to do when you send a woman an email is show her that you relate to her in some way and/or what is attractive about it (non-physical aspects). In the end, it is important to remember what you want to get out of your online dating experience, almost all men want at the very least to meet a woman in person yet most dummies wait until she tells them to take it offline which in most cases is never. No Income Verification Loans - When Income Doesn’t Show on Paychecks

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Natasha_Anderson]Natasha Anderson Financial statements, salaries, income proof, documents, paycheck, W-2 forms, 1099s - there is an exhaustive list of some of the forms that you may require to provide for a loan. Income documentation is not always easy for someone who is self employed or retired or for any person who doesnt have a fixed source of income. You may have high income and assets. Undocumented income can get good gains in the context of tax deductions. However, it might frustrate a loan borrowing attempt because the loan borrowers usually require two to three years of employment proof even for self employed. A no income verification loan can counter this situation when you cant adhere to conventional loan demands. The no income verification loan are applicable to everyone and not just self employed people. In fact many people apply for no income verification loans for the simple reason that they are processed faster. No income verification loans have three basic types stated income loans, no ratio loans and no document loans or NINA (no income/no asset verification). Stated income loans are for those who work and draw wages but not regular wages like that from an employer. This no income verification loan works for those who are self employed or those who make their living from commissions and tips. With stated income loans, income for the past two years has to be stated. No any pay stubs or W2 forms but you would have to show some bank statements, tax returns. This no income verification loans require you to reveal debts. For the lender is required to calculate debt to income ratio. That’s the percentage of gross income that is used to pay off debt. The no ratio loan doesnt involve you to declare your income. There is no requirement of tax returns, pay checks, W2 forms. The loan lender doesnt calculate debt to income ratio. But this no income verification loan requires you to list asset like bank balances, property, business ownership, stock and bonds. This no income verification works well for someone who owns more than one dealership. This loan process would prevent you from tedious assembling the papers of various dealerships. Significant change like retirement, job change, divorce, death of a spouse can necessitate no income verification loans. No income, no asset verification otherwise called NINAs require least documentation for their approval. The loan lenders demands are restricted to the name of the borrower, social security number, down payment and the loan amount. This no income verification loans are highly dependent on credit score. If the borrower has good credit score would require lesser documentation. But a borrower can be asked for job details. A continued job for two years is most likely to win the favour of the lender. Interest rates for no income verification loans are usually higher. The interest rates are dependent on down payment, credit history, the availability of assets and the openness in giving out information about property and job. Credit history is very important. In order to have no income verification loan you are required to have a very good credit history. It is meant for those who have been paying their bills on time. The guidelines for giving no income verification loans vary from lender to lender. Shopping around would win you a favourable deal. A no income verification loan can sometimes bring document demands from the lender during the loan process. You can prevent this situation by being honest with your loan lender. Talk openly about the documents required for no income verification loan application. Be wary of brokers who ask you to quote false income or credit score to get the loan. In case of default, your income tax copies might be asked and if there is any discrepancy you can land up with fraud charges. No income verification loans are not no income verification in the strictest sense. Yet, they can solve great problems for someone who has difficulty documenting source of earnings. They may come with higher interest rates but they are financially viable for whom paychecks do not mean income. After having herself gone through the ordeal of loan borrowing, Natasha Anderson understands the need for good quality loan advice. Her articles endeavor to provide you the wise counsel in the most elementary way for the benefit of the readers. She hopes that this will help them to locate the loan that beseems their expectations. The Endearing Language of Flowers

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Jay Stockman The fascination with flowers have captivated, and charmed people world wide. They represent a form of life that has endured evolution, and continues to flourish. With a diversity of colors, forms, scents, and uses, flowers have been revered by generations of admirers, and enthusiasts alike. Throughout history flowers have been the perfect form of expression, when words were hard to find. The language of flowers is a language of love, endearment, and respect. The truly popularity of flowers lies in their ability to bring joy, and good cheer. The first flowering plants found were tiny herb-like flower fossils dating back 120 million years. An innumerable number of images of preserved flowers and flower parts have been found in fossils located all over the world. According to scientists, there are over 270,000 species of flowers that have been documented and are living in the twenty-first century. Scientists continue to marvel over the amazing diversity of species, and the species that have not changed much during evolution. Many flowers have coevolved with their pollination animals. The flower is the reproductive organ of a plant. It is the job of the flower to produce seeds through fertilization, and pollination. Pollination requires animals (bees, hummingbirds, etc.), wind, or water to transfer male pollen to the female ovule. After a flower is fertilized, it develops into a fruit containing seeds. These seeds are the next generation, and serve as the means by which species of plants are dispersed across a field. Cross breeding can occur, and this leads to the enormous diversities seen. The alluring nature of flowers has made them subjects of folklore, and poetry. Their medicinal use has been embraced by the east for centuries. A flowers fragrance is its personality, a beautiful bouquet of scents that permeate even the worst form of pollution. Flowers have been associated with religious symbolism, the lily signifying purity for example. The diversity of shapes and colors makes them the perfect decoration, and the perfect gift. The likelihood of two people having the same color, shape arrangement is very remote. Edible flowers have been used in the culinary field for flavor and garnish for many years. It is clear that flowers do have a very endearing language. A language that is universal, without borders. A language that contains no negativity, nor prejudice. An unconditional way of expressing a feeling so deep, that words could never convey the true meaning. Regardless of the situation, the sight of a flower will always solicit a smile, and a sense of warmth. Bipolar Disorder and the Result of Self-Injury

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Matt OConnor Bipolar disorder is a mental condition that can result in self-mutilation or self-injury. The mere thought is alarming enough but the reality is even more so since this disease can result in suicide. Since bipolar disorder affects the normal functions of the brain, the patient can perform uncontrollable acts that are often considered as unhealthy or even fatal. This is due to the episodes of mania and depression which can lead the patient to react strongly over the simplest of things. Sadness that is caused by disappointments can lead to self-mutilation. A patient that feels guilt over something can cause him or her to blame themselves. This often leads to self-punishment that usually comes in the form of self-injury. Here are some of the most common acts of self-injury related to bipolar disorder: Cutting of the Sufferer’s Own Skin This often happens in an episode of severe depression, and there are many reasons why the patient does this. One is the feeling of guilt over a certain event that happened recently or even years back. A breakup with a boyfriend or a girlfriend perhaps, or, if the stress is so intense then the person’s only resort is to divert it into physical pain. Another reason could be for mere pleasure. The episode of mania causes the patient to have excessive energy and forcing it out through self-injury is one way to prove it. Meanwhile, cutting can also be recognized as a plea for help. Since a patient with bipolar disorder is often neglected and left unnoticed, he or she creates a venue where other people can notice him or her, this time through self-injury. Inappropriate Clothing Another way to punish one self is by wearing inappropriate clothing for a particular season or climate. One reason why a patient wears thick clothing during warm weather is to conceal an object or possible even just themselves, shielding them from the world. Body Piercing & Tattoos In some cultures, piercing and tattooing are forms of spiritual conversion. Other people on the other hand consider these acts as self-expression. While these reasons are widely acceptable to many, piercing and tattooing can still be considered as ways of injuring one’s self. Sometimes, these self-mutilations (others call it transformation) become so addictive and so uncontrollable that they become two entirely different problems. Reenactment of a Previously Painful Experience A patient with one or more painful experiences of abuse who is suffering from bipolar disorder can reenact those times if they remain unprocessed or untreated. There are two possible reasons why a person does this: one is to let others know that they are still hurting, and the other is to let him or her experience the pain all over again as a gesture of guilt and unforgiveness. As was mentioned earlier, these acts are clear manifestations of the intention to harm and can lead to suicide. Recognizing these acts, therefore, can save the patient’s life. If you know someone who is depressed and does this, carefully approach the patient and suggest that he or she should consult a psychiatrist. If in case you are the one who is practicing these acts, recognize your condition and seek psychological treatment immediately. Did you know 16% of the world’s population suffer from depression? Are you a sufferer? The author of this article, Matthew OConnor runs a site dedicated to the latest news and developments in depression treatments, particularly the crucial topic of bipolar disorder self injury. Change Your Thinking and Improve Your Career

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Dave Lorenzo Successful people approach their every interaction in a manner thats different than everyone else. People who are successful enter into each interaction with a desired outcome. They have an idea of what they want from each meeting, each phone call, and each email. The most successful individuals have internalized this behavior; they dont even realize that they are doing it. There is also a flip side to this coin. Successful people are incredibly appreciative when other people are focused on achieving an outcome from a meeting or interaction. This helps them cut through clutter and enables them to be almost twice as productive as everyone else. Many people ask me if, by outcome-driven, I mean communicating in a frank or direct way. Although direct communication is often helpful and appreciated, that is not my specific focus. In this case, I am referring to the thought process that occurs prior to an interaction, such as scheduling a meeting, accepting an invitation to a meeting, picking up the phone, writing an email, or even going to the store. Most people take these things for granted. You will sit in a meeting for an hour or more and then leave the room wondering why you just wasted an hour of your life. You go to the mall with no clear purpose and end up just killing time. Outcome-driven thinking is about being in the moment. What you do right now will create your past and it will have an impact on your future. Your life is a collection of these finite opportunities. You do not know when they will run out, so you owe it to yourself to make the most out of each and every moment. Entertainers say that, when you go up onstage, you have to be in the room. You need to be in tune with everything that is going on around you and act in harmony with those events. You have to be present in order to make a difference. In business, use these moments to advance toward the outcome you seek. Take advantage of the fact that you have that critical person on the phone, or that they read email at the beginning of the day. Use these tools to your advantage. David Lorenzo has more than 20 years of business experience as a successful corporate executive, entrepreneur, strategist, author, and speaker. Best Ways To Identify Your Ideal Clients & Customers

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Glenn Ebersole As a business coach, I strongly believe that it would be great if all businesses today would know who their ideal clients and customers are. If I asked each of the readers of this article to tell me who your ideal clients are, could you tell me? Have you ever taken time to truly identify your ideal clients and what they are like? I suspect a majority of readers of this article answered NO to these questions. Too many business owners and managers cannot identify their ideal clients and customers and as a consequence they continue to chase any prospect and sell to everyone. By doing this, they work harder, not smarter, waste valuable time & resources, and they fail to grow their business. Worse yet, too many business owners and managers find it absolutely impossible to walk away from any prospect even when they know the prospect is not the right fit for their business. In my professional business coaching practice, I have worked with many companies to help identify their target markets and ideal clients. I strongly impress upon them the importance of doing this so they can strategically grow their business. What advice do I share with my clients on how to identify their target markets and ideal clients? Here is a short list of some advice I do share with them. + Identify prospective client company and individuals that will match up closely with your company strengths, your companys identified opportunities, and the vision, mission, guiding principles and goals of your company. + Set aside time to carefully think about the people and companies and organizations that you really love to work with and write down some of the traits of these individuals and companies. Some of those traits could be: they value a long term relationship; they look at the value of services and products, rather than cost; their assignments are challenging; they are passionate about growing their business; etc. + Develop a demographic profile of your ideal client company or organization using such parameters as: geographic location; number of offices; annual revenues; number of employees; types of employees; SIC codes; etc. + Develop a demographic profile of your ideal client as an individual using such characteristics as: where they live; level of education; income level; skill sets; job title; area of work responsibility; personal interests & hobbies; etc. + Write clear descriptions of your ideal client and organization and your ideal individual within a client company of organization and then refer back to those descriptions before developing and implementing your marketing efforts. Use these descriptions as a filter for any prospect list you develop. If you want to learn how you can benefit from a guide, facilitator and business coach to assist you in identifying your ideal client companies and organizations and the ideal individuals within those companies and organizations and how to achieve a higher level of confidence that you have a clear description of whom you should be talking with and why their company or organization needs your products and/or services, please contact Glenn Ebersole today through his web site at www.businesscoach4u.com or email him at jgecoach@aol.com. Digital Music with the Sony Ericsson W850i

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sean_Mauger]Sean Mauger Re-wind to days gone by The early portable music players existed in Tape format, a rectangular device that was chunky (at least the size of a tape) and although did the job of playing music on the move, had many, when compared to todays technology, annoying features. Number 1: in order to play all your favourite music, you had to transport an array of cassette tapes around with you, usually in a very stylish, plastic tape box. Number 2: Lets say you put your tape in your walkman and fancy listening to track 4 on the album, this would mean either fast-forwarding or re-winding, depending on which side you listened to last, all the way to song you wanted. This wouldnt have been so bad except you had to keep stopping the tape and trying to guess how far along youd gone and how much longer you needed to search for. Fast Forward to the Era of CDs and Mini Discs Before the days of Mobile Phones, there were devices called CDs and Mini Disks (they werent around very long) which took away the need to fast-forward and re-wind, as with a simple press of the skip button you could select any track you wanted to hear. However, you still needed to cart your music collection around with you, all be it a slightly smaller carry case, it still wasnt practical to put in you pocket and you still had to change the disk when you had enough of one album. Need more persuasion? What about chewed tapes and scratched CDs? Ditty Little Digital And the evolution continues, with one of the latest Walkman phones available, the Sony Ericsson W850i shows off just how far portable music has come. There is no need to fast-forward or Re-wind, no need to carry your music collection and now even no need to carry a Walkman, you know that you have your mobile phone on your person all the while, your also now have your music too. Stored digitally, your music collection is carried on a micro chip smaller than your finger nail, your walkman is disguised as youre a phone and the sound is arguably better than any music playing device that has gone before. Elegant Holiday Tablecloths and Candles with a Stencil and Glitter

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Victoria Larsen With the holidays upon us, its time to get our homes in shape for the guests and festivities! How about stenciling a new tablecloth and napkins to brighten your dining table? Its easy! Simply pre-wash your blank table cloth, and dont add fabric softener (which seals out the paint!). Inexpensive tablecloths are available at most retail outlets and even the dollar store. I love stencil cream paints for fabric since you cant feel the paint after it dries and it remains soft to the touch. However, craft acrylics can also be used. Choose deep red, green or even a black tablecloth, then stencil your chosen design in gold. Talk about elegant! Stencil your chosen design right in the center. Now, add it to the corners as well. If your design does not lend itself well to corner applications, simply apply a portion of the stencil to the corners (such as a group of leaves or a central element of the design).Allow the stenciling to dry, then to heat set by simply throwing it in a hot dryer for 25 minutes. Heat setting can also be done by applying a pressing cloth over the design and using the hottest iron setting that type of fabric can stand, iron for 1-2 minutes over the design to set it. This will prevent it from washing out when laundered. Now add candles to match and yes, stencil those too! We have a fabulous idea for sparkling candles that are fun and festive! To create a matching candle, simply choose a small element from the stencil and use masking tape to tape off openings around that element to prevent them from also being stenciled. Tape the stencil to the candle and with your stencil brush, apply white glue over the stencil design directly on to the candle. Remove the stencil and wash immediately so the glue does not dry on the stencil.Hold the candle over a garbage pail and sprinkle the glue design with gold, silver or iridescent glitter. Shake off the excess and allow to dry.Any candle can be done with this easy technique and can further be embellished with flat backed jewels from the craft store. Create ornate Christmas tree ornaments the same way then give away as a special gift to a friend. Dont forget that stunning Christmas cards can be created using this same technique. Raised plaster stenciled pine tree branches and plaster pine cones from a mold are the perfect solution for that wood box that sits next to your fireplace or the shoe bin outside the front door. Simply plaster stencils the branches with joint compound, cast your pine cones from the mold and adhere with joint compound to the branch design, allow to dry, then using a mixture of wall glaze and paint, create a color wash over the entire surface. Use the same design to create a wonderful holiday welcome sign for the front door. Stencil the design in to a square on any flat piece of wood, cast and place pine cones in the corners, paint with wall paint to seal and then stencil or hand paint the word Welcome in the center. If you like, the branches and pine cones can be painted in browns and greens for added color. Its very pretty to add streaks of gold to your brown pine cones for added flair. Holiday ornaments from any small molds are super easy to create! Simply take the mold of your choice and cast two of them. After they have been removed, apply joint compound to the back of each one (a very thin layer). Add a looped ribbon to the back of one of the plaster pieces to create a hanger, then press the two together to create one complete unit. Wipe any excess joint compound away and use to fill in openings between the two pieces. Allow to dry completely then paint as desired. Health Services’ Excessive Prescription of Medications

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Steve_Gink] Steve Gink Many people have started to become disillusioned with the health services and the seemingly excessive prescription of medication. Alternative medicine, formerly the mainstay of the hippy or green individual, is now becoming more appealing to the mainstream and is indeed encouraged by some medical professionals in addition to conventional medicine. For certain symptoms, alternative medicine can prove very beneficial. Holistic therapies are also good for personal wellbeing in addition to aiding in the recovery of certain physical ailments. For muscular aches, massage is a widely recognised treatment. Many are not aware that it is a form of alternative medicine or that there are various types of massage available dependent on the location and type of injury. Sports Massage is most commonly used for those with muscle damage caused during sporting pursuits. To qualify as a sports masseur requires extensive study and a good knowledge of human biology in relation to muscles, bones, joint and ligaments. This is because in these cases there is often actual damage to the muscles, such as tears or strains. In order to help them heal they must be massaged correctly with this knowledge at the forefront of the masseurs mind to prevent further damage. An uninformed masseur has the potential to make the problem worse if they do not know exactly how to treat the specific problem. Swedish Body Massage is most commonly used to treat general muscle aches and pains. A good masseur would assess the patient prior to treatment and evaluate the extent of the problem and if they felt it was due to in injury rather than just a stiffness or tension, would refer the patient to a Sports Massage specialist. However, if the problem is not serious a Swedish Body Massage can release tension and nodules in the muscles and is tailored to the area of the body where the problem lies. Usually the massage is offered as either a full or half body and the patient can choose which they prefer. The specific area of discomfort will then be concentrated on with the rest of the body being treated to a general massage in addition. This treatment is also great for personal well-being as it can promote general relaxation, as well as the easing of any muscular pain. For many who receive the treatment it is purely for its benefits for the soul and as a treat and not for any particular medical concern. Indian Head Massage is more specialised as it concentrates on a smaller part of the body. However, it is not just a treatment for the head as the name suggests. These massages work on the head, face, neck, upper back and shoulders and are the most widely used to treat shoulder ache associated with sitting in front of a computer all day. This treatment can also help with those suffering from migraine, sinus problems or stress. All of these treatments carry no associated risks with them, provided they are carried out by a qualified professional. However, there are things you can do and expect to feel immediately afterwards and over the next couple of days. This can include an increase in muscle ache before it gets better, tiredness and in some cases, headache. It is always advisable to drink a lot of water, however the masseur should advise you of what to do and expect at the time of the treatment.
